Orlando developed his interest in music and stage performing by learning basic piano and singing with choirs during his primary and secondary school years. But the addiction all started when he placed third at the Junior Red Cross Manila's ' Inter-University Song Festival' in 1980 - A realization that an audience is willing to listen to his voice. Six years later, he passed an audition as Tracks Band's lead vocalist at Sheraton Manila. Since then, he has become a dependable pub/cafe singer and eventually led his succeeding bands from one venue to another.
His tour of Indonesia with Utrashock in 1989 introduced him to Indonesia's music industry. The Premix Band allbum was the first Filipino-Indonesian recording released commercially and gave him the chance to represent the Philippines in The First Asean Achievement Awards and front act for Sergio Mendes Live in Bali in 1992. Club Fame Band and CFB, Orlando's second "Fil-Indo" band became known as a classy back-up band for local recording artists. And as an acknowledged foreign talent in Indonesia, he has been hired to coach & choreograph several local bands, and was invited in 1998 by the Indonesia's Ministry of Tourism to teach potential singers on performance in an annual artist seminar.
Orlando's recent club success came when Asia Reforms was formed. In September 1998, the band premiered at Hard Rock Cafe Jakarta, where the initial two-month engagement lasted for 6 years. A clear proof of his versatility and willingness to explore his musicality by embracing different musical styles like pop, rock and alternative. He's currently into managing three cover bands and yet to fulfill his dream of singing with a big band someday.
